A Vycross™ Lift might be just the cosmetic enhancement that you are looking for.
As we age, the face begins to lose volume and the skin relaxes. Fillers have been a great tool in helping soften the signs of aging and restoring a brighter more youthful appearance to the face. Great advances have been made with filler technology over the past several years. Fillers have many characteristics such as how hard they are, how long they last, and how well they stay together. The most common fillers that we use today in the office are hyaluronic acid fillers (gels designed to increase the skin’s smoothness, hydration and elasticity) such as Restylane® and Juvéderm®. Hyaluronic acid (HA) may sound ominous to the layperson, but our bodies are loaded with it. HA is the glue between all of our cells.
Early on, the measure of the quality of a hyaluronic acid filler was determined by the length of the HA molecule and the extent of cross linking it contained. For example, consider this analogy; Imagine a railroad track consisting of two steel rails (HA molecules) and the wooden supports running perpendicular (Cross-linking). When these structures combine, they create a stable structure. Different formulations would have longer chains and differing amounts of crosslinking resulting in fillers with different properties. The common theory was the longer the chain, the greater duration of the filler….until Vycross™ crosslinking technology came along.
Vycross™ cross-linking technology improved the quality and characteristics of HA fillers dramatically by not only increasing the quality of the filler but the longevity of the product. Instead of trying to develop the longest chains of HA, combinations of long and short chains combined with the Vycross™ cross-linking resulted in products with more lift and longevity than previous fillers. This exciting filler advancement hit the cosmetic market first as Juvéderm® Voluma XC in January 2015. Voluma® XC was FDA approved for lifting the cheeks and was an overnight sensation. Voluma® XC, with its Vycross™ technology and formulation, resulted in a filler that could restore and lift the apple of the cheek and last for 24 months for most patients. The product line has expanded by decreasing the concentration of the original formulation, thus creating two additional Juvéderm® products. Juvéderm® Volbella XC was released in June 2016 for lip augmentation and softening of lip lines. Juvéderm® Vollure XC was FDA approved in March of 2017, and falls between the other two as far as concentration.
The variations of the Juvéderm® products with the Vycross™ technology allow the cosmetic surgeon the ability to treat different areas of the face by using the ideal product for that particular area. The Vycross™ Lift describes the use of the different products to help the patient achieve a lift in the office. Voluma® XC helps lift the cheeks or enhance the chin. Volbella® XC aids in restoring volume to the lips and softening fine lines. Additionally, Vollure® XC can be used almost anywhere in the face, from fine lines, to lifting the down turning of the corner of the mouth, as well as subtly adding volume to hollowness present under the eyes. The end result, with a combination of these fillers, is a natural and more youthful look. The XC designation indicates that the filler contains numbing medicine.
If you are looking to rejuvenate, soften lines, restore volume and add lift to your appearance, the Vycross™ Lift, a non-surgical option, is definitely a sought after and natural aesthetic procedure for you. For more information about Juvederm™ and it’s family of facial filler products click here+
